Remember these Country Club of North Carolina Features for an Enjoyable Day

Country Club of North Carolina is a private golf club. The club is located in Pinehurst, NC.

Through the gates at CCNC, you will find a genteel southern welcome and a stately clubhouse. The founders’ vision of a central golf location in the heart of North Carolina’s Sandhills region lives on today. Here are some of the best features of the Country club of North Carolina.

Golf

One of the premier private golf courses in North Carolina, CCNC’s 18-hole Cardinal course plays 7,000 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72 and features a slope rating of 138 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Tom Fazio, the course honors Donald Ross with swales, slopes and false fronts while adding the playability that makes him so popular with players of all abilities. The Dogwood course at CCNC, which opened in 1963, quickly became known as one of the finest courses in the sandhills and was the first to feature an island green.

If Pinehurst prides itself on capturing golf’s essence, CCNC takes that philosophy to the next level. The second you arrive, someone will hand you a cart, scorecard and tees and you’ll be off to wander through Ellis Maples and Willard Byrd’s creation with the slowly sinking sun as your guide. No matter what your skill level, CCNC demands your full attention and will challenge you in ways that few courses can. It’s an experience not to be missed. This is golf at its finest.

Social

Golf is the main attraction at CCNC, but there are many other activities for members and their families to enjoy. The Club’s social calendar is filled with activities, events and parties throughout the year. Whether it’s the annual Fall Festival, Camp Out, Thanksgiving, Easter Brunch or the Holiday Dinner and Dance, there is always something going on at the club to celebrate the seasons and special club holidays.

Chef George Lohr is our new Executive Chef, who will focus on menus, special features and member requests. Born in Ohio, raised in Minnesota and Raleigh, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and has worked extensively in the restaurant industry. He is excited to be part of the team and looks forward to serving our members.

Tennis

Members of all ages and skill levels enjoy the game of tennis on a full complement of Har-Tru courts. With a USPTA certified professional and a Pickleball Instructor on staff, clinics and lessons are available year-round to help members take their games to the next level. From beginner clinics that offer a fun, no pressure environment, to interclub tournament team play with professional supervision, there are opportunities for all levels of commitment. In addition, the Tennis Shop offers restringing services and a wide selection of apparel, shoes and racquets.

The daily “tennis experience” is distinctly fun, challenging, social, educational and personalized at CCCC, thanks to a dedicated professional team and our well-maintained facilities. Our program includes a variety of adult tournaments, leagues and interclub match play as well as junior camps and clinics from Monday through Saturday.

Led by Director of Tennis George Husk, this group class utilizes the best of both worlds – drills and live point play. In this two hour session, George will guide players through a series of drills that simulate a college tennis team workout, and then put players into a game situation to see how those skills hold up. This unique and proven training method allows players to make rapid strides in their game. This class is limited to 6 participants.
