A beautiful Dan Maples design, Rocky River Golf Club is set among pristine wetlands and there are no houses surrounding the course. It is one of the best public courses in the Charlotte area and is consistently rated among the top 50 in North Carolina.

Located just a pitching wedge from the new Embassy Suites hotel & convention center, this is the perfect place to play 18 holes of championship golf in the Charlotte metro area. It features a well-designed and challenging layout with excellent fairways, greens and overall conditioning.

Edgewater Golf Club

Edgewater Golf Club is an exciting new golf course in a retirement community just outside of Charlotte, South Carolina. It’s a great place to take in the beautiful Lancaster scenery, and offers challenging play for all skill levels.

The course is a fun and challenging layout, and is in excellent condition all year long. They recently performed a major makeover and replaced all the greens with Bermuda grass.

The layout features a lot of elevation changes and doglegs to challenge your ability. You will also encounter a number of water hazards on many of the holes.

Olde Sycamore Golf Club

Olde Sycamore Golf Club, a semi-private 18-hole championship course, is an excellent choice for your next golf outing. This Tom Jackson-designed course features hybrid Bermuda fairways and slick Crenshaw bent grass greens.

The course measures 6,965 yards from the longest tees and is one of the most challenging layouts in Charlotte. Several elevation changes, 30 bunkers and 31 water hazards make this a test of golfing skills.

The course also has a very well-stocked golf shop and snack bar that features an extensive menu of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and pizza. In addition, a full range, practice bunker, chipping green and practice putting green are located in the clubhouse. It is no wonder that this is one of the best courses in the state. The Olde Sycamore Golf Club is also a popular destination for weddings and receptions in the Charlotte area.

Eagle Chase Golf Club

One of the most unique courses in our area, Eagle Chase Golf Club features drastic elevation changes that make you feel like you are playing a mountain course. The course is located in northern Union County, just east of Charlotte.

The layout is challenging and fun for players of all skill levels. Zoysia grass fairways provide great lies and the elevation changes and doglegs keep you thinking on every shot.

This course is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it! It was a bit slick with the storms but the greens were still in good shape. Definitely worth the drive from charlotte.

Springfield Golf Club

The Springfield Golf Club is located just 12 miles from charlotte and features a challenging course layout that is fun and challenging for all levels of golfer. They offer a great practice facility with an oversized putting green and a driving range to help you improve your game.

Designed by Clyde Johnston, this beautiful course will test every golfer’s ability. It features 4 holes that flank Sugar Creek, offering spectacular views and 13 holes that play across and along perennial streams that feed into the Catawba River.

The Springfield Golf Club is one of the best courses in charlotte with an impressive practice facility that will help you work on your golf game. It also offers a variety of membership options including no initiation fees.
